My New Favorite Location | Jakocko Family Session

I bet you are wondering why I am posting a session that I shot last October. The reason is threefold.

1. It’s a small world.

When I read the name Jacocko on the email from Mom I recognized it right away. She is a friend of a friend. We sat with each other at said friends wedding and had a great time getting to know each other. Some 13 years, 6 kids and a few jobs later I wondered if she knew when she booked the session that she had booked with me.

Session date came and when I showed up she realized right away who I was. We talked about our mutual friend and her fun wedding, and about our lives now. She mentioned she was happy that the photographer she found on internet turned out to be yours truly. She really is just as nice as she was all those years ago.

2. Shooting in the fall + pandemic = no time to blog

I try my best to blog each session but the fall always knocks me off my rhythm. I get so busy that I can’t keep up with all the amazing families I meet. The pandemic and having my kids remote learning made it even tougher last year.

3. This is my new favorite location.

The main reason that I am blogging this right now is that I am so excited about this new location. Last year, I found it too late to make it a true creek walk even though it was surprising warm during some of my sessions at the end of last year.

This year my goal is to find some families who after we take some cheesy smiling pictures for the grandparents will be willing to go explore with me and maybe find some crayfish. Are ready to go splash in the creek?
