Orland Park Cake Smash | Turning Lemons into Lemonade
Whew little one. It has been a year. Coming home from the hospital to the air not working, a 10+ month project that was supposed to take 3 days, broken cars, sickness, bad news and then a freaking Pandemic. You little one, were are constant bright spot. Our sunshine. The thing that kept me sane when trying to potty train your sister for the 15th time.
When we talked about having a third we kept coming back to the fact that you would be our bonus. As your brother and sister grew I morned each milestone with a longing for them not to grow so quickly. I’m not saying that when you giggled for the first time or took tiny little steps that I didn’t feel a tug at my heart but I also felt peace. I guess its because you were always meant to be in our family. I now know that we are complete. You have completed us in a way we didn’t know that we needed. Silly girl, you center us. You make us giggle and you make us proud.
Little one, you are still so small but showing us your personality each and every day. You squawk like a sea gull when you need something (sometimes calling other birds to your side), dance like there is no tomorrow, smile when you see your brother, belly laugh at all your sisters jokes, melt daddies heart and let me sleep at night (THANK YOU!). We didn’t know we needed you but we absolutely did. You were our lemonade in this lemon of a year.
