Starofsky Family Session | The Yellow Flowers came out to Play

Sometimes you show up to a location that you have been to A LOT, like it’s my favorite place to go and if a family has not been there before it is my first suggestion, and you get a little surprise. The prairie is ever changing as every year they do a controlled burn so you never know how its going to be. Anyway, last week we walked halfway down the path and I stopped in my tracks and knew that these photos were going to be extra special. I mean how lucky did we get to do a session in the middle of a field of blooming Black Eyed Susans. (At least that’s what my google search led me to believe as I have a black thumb).

Not to mention that I am now in love with this family. The Mom and Dad were so loving not just with their girls but also with each other. The girls were great. There were some tears but parents I’m going to let you in on a little secret. We go through all emotions during a session. It’s just the nature of being with our littles. At 90% of sessions I have parents ask me, “Is it always like this?” as one of their kids is melting down. And yes, yes it is always “like this”. I strive to capture your smiley, beautiful family the way that you would want hanging in your house for years to come but I also want to capture the emotion of the night so that it is real to who you are as a family right now.

After going through her photos Mom gave me the best compliment I feel I can get. She said that she cried going through her pictures. My goal is to make you tear up, to make you feel that you did the right thing in capturing their little toes, their smiles, their tears, and their hilarity. Because as we all know time is fleeting and they are not getting any younger.
