Schmidt Family | Oak Forest Fall Session

Mom and dad were one of my earliest clients for sunset sessions. They were a newly engaged adorable couple who were so sweet with each other. One of the pictures from that session is still one of my favorites as it just exemplifies love.

I remember going back home that evening as a mother of a one year old and thinking back about my own engagement and all the possibilities that the future held. I thought about how loving and kind they were and how if I tried to remember my own love for my husband at that new and exciting time than maybe our relationship wouldn’t seem so difficult (anyone who has a one year old knows how it can stress your relationship). So I started trying harder to put us first and our relationship got better.

I guess what I am trying to say is that being on the other side of the lens can also be emotional and healing. Because a lot of the time I see how life is not perfect but perfect the way it is.

Anyway, back to this sweet family. It was great to see them as parents and how their love has expanded and changed over time to create their beautiful baby girl. You can also tell that she adores them and her big puppy.
