What a difference a year can make?! I’m not just talking about how your kids get so much bigger and cuter because these two definitely did. I am talking about the difference in their “stranger danger” factor. Last year I basically had to do their session blind because they did not like seeing me at all. I had to hide behind things and try to get them to focus on mom and dad. I basically did everything possible for them not to scream in my face.

This year was a complete reversal. They became my best buds. We played games, they smiled when their parents asked them to, and we had a blast. At the end I got hugs and we all went home happy and I believe without tears. Do not give up on your vision. Just because your child couldn’t pull it together at IKEA one time does not mean you should never step foot in there again (wait did that just happen to me?). Give your kids the opportunity to try things more than once and thrive. I see them again on Sunday and I am praying that we are still best friends!
